I am one of those people who see no need in buying brand new graduation gowns. I have this impression maybe because during my own graduation ceremony, I went through an ordeal getting a gown to wear on my graduation day. I had listened to all the talk about planning for your graduation ceremony before the day, and I can say I did my best. I sent out my invitation to my family and friends because I really wanted it to be a big and memorable event. I placed orders for the meals and even talked my mother into making her special homemade cookies for the occasion. I then booked for my graduation cap and gown through an online store that promised to deliver it at least two days to graduation day.
With every other thing in place, I had only my graduation regalia to wait for, and it was not easy waiting. I had wanted to have a dress rehearsal before the morning of the graduation, but to my surprise, the night before the graduation, my gown and other accessories were still yet to be delivered. I kept calling and I was told by a receptionist to please be patient. Finally, my gown was delivered to me on the morning of my graduation ceremony and when I hurriedly opened it, it was the wrong color after all.
